Joni Mitchell is reportedly “making good progress,” according to singer-songwriter Judy Collins. In a Facebook post dated October 14, Collins says that Mitchell is “walking, talking, painting some, doing much rehab every day, and making good progress,” and that the information comes from a “close mutual friend.” Mitchell’s attorney, Rebecca J. Thyne, recently mentioned to People that Mitchell was able to feed herself as early at June 26. Mitchell was hospitalized in March after suffering a brain aneurysm.

- David Bowie is reportedly releasing a new album in January, entitled Blackstar. The album consists of seven songs that reach 45 minutes in length, according to the Times.
- An alternate video clip of the Beatles performing “Revolution” has been released, prior to the release of Beatles 1+. Beatles 1+, their latest collection of video material, is set to be in stores on November 6.

Cory Wells, lead singer of Three Dog Night, passed away unexpectedly on October 20. No cause was immediately given; however, apparently Wells had been suffering from cancer and died of an infection. He was 74.
