Win a Fab Set of Reissues from Real Gone Music!

Your regularly scheduled AJOBO has been hijacked by the holiday spirit (or something like that). That’s right — every week in December, we’ll feature an amazing, exclusive giveaway for prizes that’ll satisfy every music fan on your list (or yourself — we won’t tell!). To enter, simply scroll to the bottom of this entry and follow the directions to win. Plus, as a bonus you’ll get your weekly REBEAT menu. We wouldn’t cheat you out of that, would we?

If you’re a fan of legacy recordings and/or reissues (which, since you’re on REBEAT, I’m going to go ahead and assume you are), you’re already familiar with Real Gone Music. Founded in 2011 by music industry vets Gordon Anderson and Gabby Castellana, Real Gone unearths buried treasure in the form of forgotten artists and deep-tracked catalogs. With past releases from artists like Chubby Checker, the Electric Prunes, the Animals, Cass Elliot, Dion, and many, many more, Real Gone is home to some of the greatest music of all time.

In February, Real Gone is adding Tony Joe White’s complete Warner Bros. recordings to its catalog, as well as discs from George Jones & Tammy Wynette, Bobby Lance, Jerry Williams, John Hall, Ray Kennedy, two landmark live albums called Saturday Night at the Uptown and Apollo Saturday Night, and more. (Spoiler alert: you’ll be seeing more about these releases in the upcoming weeks.)

kingstontrioWe’re so pleased to give three lucky readers a Real Gone prize package of a variety of releases.  Up for grabs, we have the Shirelles’ double-album Happy and In Love/The Shirelles, which we’ll feature a little later this week on the site; Dee Dee Warwick’s The Complete ATCO Recordings; Esther Phillips’ Alone Again, Naturally; and the Kingston Trio’s appropriately titled The Last Month of the Year.

For your chance to win these amazing CDs, simply enter the giveaway below by midnight, Monday, December 29. By entering your email, you’re automatically guaranteed +1 entry. For more chances to win, simply follow us on Twitter (+2 entries), tweet about the giveaway (+2), or head over to our Facebook page (+2)! This Week on REBEAT!

– We’ll chat with Stephen Emmer about his holiday collaboration with Julian Lennon on the new single “Sleep For England” from the Blue International project, the sales of which benefit Lennon’s White Feather Foundation.

– As the holiday season comes to an end, we wrap up our coverage of all things Christmas with our favorite albums and songs, along with a look back at the Beatles’ infamous Christmas messages to their fans.

– Everyone knows that, in the mid-’60s, British musicians were all the rage in America, but who were the artists that never managed to break through to the Colonies? Our Gal in London, Sharon Lacey, enlightens us on British superstars that are obscure or unknown in the US.
