Back in April, REBEAT staffer Carey Farrell reviewed Brian Wilson’s new album, No Pier Pressure, declaring it an effort with “a lot of beauty sprinkled throughout.” A bit different from Wilson’s legendary backlog of music, this time he collaborates with a slew of contemporary artists, from Zooey Deschanel to Kacey Musgraves to Capital Cities’ Sebu Simonian. Of course, some boys from his old band show up for support; in fact, some of the material for No Pier Pressure was culled from the cutting room floor of the Beach Boys’ 2012 reunion album That’s Why God Made the Radio.
