- Unreleased music by David Bowie may still see the light of day. Bowie apparently had many “unscheduled musical releases” planned at the time of his death, made up of mostly archived music from throughout the decades.
- Santana will be releasing a reunion album on April 15 called Santana IV, a follow-up to 1971’s Santana III.
- Sting and Peter Gabriel have announced a joint tour, called the Rock Paper Scissors tour. The tour kicks off on Tuesday, June 21 in Columbus, Ohio.
- A documentary about Frank Zappa called Eat That Question — Frank Zappa in His Own Words will be appearing at the Sundance Film Festival on Monday, January 25.

- Glenn Frey, guitarist and vocalist of the Eagles, passed away on January 18, 2016. Frey passed away at age 67 in New York City due to multiple medical complications.
- Mott the Hoople drummer Terence Dale “Buffin” Griffin passed away on January 18 after struggling with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 67.
