Marty Balin of Jefferson Airplane paid tribute to former band member Paul Kantner in a Facebook post published on January 28. In the post, Balin wrote:
So many memories rushing through my mind now. So many moments that he and I opened new worlds. He was the first guy I picked for the band and he was the first guy who taught me how to roll a joint. And although I know he liked to play the devil’s advocate, I am sure he has earned his wings now”. Sai Ram “Go with God”.
Albums, singles, and tours
- Six of David Bowie’s early albums, released from 1969 through 1973, will be reissued on heavyweight vinyl on February 26.
- Bruce Springsteen’s The River tour has been extended, with new shows beginning on March 19 and running through late April.
- Brian Wilson is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the release of Pet Sounds with a world tour, reportedly the last time the album will be played in its entirety. The tour will begin March 26 in New Zealand.
- Bad Company is reportedly working on a new album with Paul Rodgers, with a potential tour following its recording.
