Alan White, drummer of progressive rock band Yes, has stated that Yes will continue working and releasing new music despite the death of bassist and founding member, Chris Squire. Squire passed away this past June, but before he passed, “[Squire] called [White] and asked me to keep everything going regardless of what happens,” White said in an interview with Billboard.
Albums, singles, and tours
- The Zombies announced a North American tour on their Facebook page on July 20, supporting their 1968 album Odessey and Oracle; this is the first time that the members of the original lineup will be playing the album in its entirety live. - Keith Richards recently stated that the Rolling Stones are set to record a new album. Richards is releasing his latest solo album, Crosseyed Heart, on September 18 and said that he will tour in promotion of that record before heading into the studio with the Stones. This will be their first album since A Bigger Bang, which was released in 2005.
- Ann Wilson has announced the release of a solo EP with her new band, the Ann Wilson Thing, which will be supported by a tour. A recent post from the bands’ Facebook page said that the EP is set to be released in August of this year.

- Eddie Hardin, singer and keyboard player best known for his work in the Spencer Davis Group, passed away on July 22 due to a heart attack. He was 66.
