Ginger Baker may need to undergo heart surgery, as he’s been dealing with heart problems since late February. A recent Facebook post, dated March 24, reads:
For those of you waiting for news of my health here’s an update: cardiologist is brilliant….yesterday he inserted a tube into the artery at my right wrist and fed it all the way to my heart….quite an experience….he was taking pictures of my heart from inside….amazing technology….there are 2 options for surgery and depending on how strong my old lungs are they may do both….says he’s going to get me playing again !! Thanks all for your support.
Baker is set to tour with Baker’s Air Force beginning as soon as the end of April; however, in light of recent issues, we do not know when Baker will be back on the road.

- The Rolling Stones made an historic appearance in Cuba on March 25. The band played their first concert in the capital city of Havana.
- Paul McCartney will make a guest appearance in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The Pirates series, which stars Johnny Depp, has also seen cameos by Keith Richards.
- The Beach Boys will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pet Sounds by releasing a commemorative five-disc boxset, which will include both audio and Blu-ray video.
- A previously unreleased David Bowie demo from 1970 called “To Be Love” can now be streamed and downloaded from Mind Body Network.
- Tom Petty’s band prior to the Heartbreakers, called Mudcrutch, will be touring America beginning May 26. They are also set to release an album, Mudcrutch 2, on May 20.
