A statue of the Beatles was unveiled in Liverpool by John Lennon’s half-sister, Julia Baird. The bronze sculpture was donated to Liverpool’s waterfront by the Cavern Club, the famous club where the Beatles were discovered by Brian Epstein. The unveiling marks 50 years since the Beatles’ last performance at the Cavern on December 5, 1965.

  • Bruce Springsteen is officially touring in 2016, in support of his newly released box set commemorating his album, The River. Check out the full list of tour dates on Springsteen’s website.
  • Pink Floyd released an EP of some of their earliest recordings on Friday, November 27. The 1965 – Their First Recordings EP was limited to 1,000 copies and only released in Europe.
  • Steven Tyler announced that he will be performing a few solo concerts in Canada early next year; he will also be releasing his solo LP in 2016.
  • Styx have announced their plan to donate $25,000 to the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris through their charity, Rock to the Rescue.
